Dr. Manoj Pandey received his PhD degree from Department of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics at Cornell University in 2006 and B.Tech. degree from IIT Madras in 2001 prior to that. He was a Post Doctoral research associate at the Sonic MEMS lab at Cornell from 2009-2012. He also worked at Finite Element company Abaqus from 2006-2009 and glass manufacturing company Corning from 2010-2011. He was a visiting faculty at IIT Hyderabad from June-October 2012 before joining IIT Madras.
His research interests are in the computational mechanics and nonlinear dynamics based study of Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS). This involves multi-physics simulations of these devices based on reduced order nonlinear model generation. He also works on FEM based multi-scale problems especially related to homogenization methods applied to plastically deforming honeycomb structures and masonry.
